Pencil Box

The Pencil Box is a box made for Home Depot. In order to get money for the Christmas party, employees have bake sales and other fund raisers. (Go figure - one of the richest companies on the planet and the employees are forced to come up with ways to get money from each other).

On this occasion, we pilfer money from each other via a silent auction for a basket of 'stuff'. Each dept. has to come up with their own basket 'o' stuff. I got a little carried away with the idea for our dept. Since we are in Operations and do mostly office work, I came up with the idea of substituting a Giant Pencil for a basket.

This was the original idea ( looks simple enough on paper... ) :

There are three parts to the finished box. The eraser is a round box. The body of the 'pencil' is a hexagonal shaped box, and the tip is a six sided cone. Here we see it during the construction phase:
