More Shelves

[March 7, 2007]

Yet more shelves to put "stuff" on. When you get too much stuff, you just make more shelves I guess.

Anyway, the sides are made from very cheap - and very soft - cedar. Because this wood was rough on one side I was able to get it cheaper and because I have a surface planer I was able to clean it up. The corners and cross pieces had to be lap jointed. This makes it possible to use soft wood and it keeps the wood from warping too much.

The three main shelves are bolted in and were made from pine. Everything was stained in order to make the colors of the two woods match a little better.

Two of the shelves have sides on them so that stuff won't fall off. It's funny how fast we filled it up!
